How We Publish
As a hybrid publisher, our goal is to produce high-quality books, and we take it seriously. We provide all the services necessary from the basics, such as editing, design, and formatting, to more specialized services, such as indexing, illustration, abstracting, and rewriting. We shepherd books through the production and distribution process from start to finish. We love working closely with authors to create books we are all proud of.
Unlike self-published books, our books are available worldwide in all the major online bookstores, making us an attractive alternative to publishing on Amazon. Our books are circulated in major library systems thanks to our excellent production and distribution.
Who We Publish
We publish authors working in English without regard to nationality, citizenship, or residency status. Our current list of authors hail from Canada, the United States of America, India, and South Africa. Iguana Books and Out of Print Press want to give every writer the opportunity to publish the best book they can. We do not accept mediocrity. Our goal is to publish quality books that look good and read well.

Every one of our books meets the highest industry production standards. Our commitment to quality over quantity means our authors can rest assured that their work meets all accessibility standards and will be eligible for distribution across major ebook retailers and public library systems.
Community
At Iguana Books and Out of Print Press, we believe that it takes a village to produce a worthwhile book. This is what distinguishes us from self-publishing companies who will publish anything without standards, leaving unsupported authors to figure everything out. The writer is the star of the show, but every star needs a talented supporting cast to achieve an optimal performance. Even more important than the supporting cast is the audience. Our world-class distribution means we can reach the audience no matter how or where they want to read.
Our Canadian authors also benefit from joining the t.a.l.e.zine publication on Substack, a growing community of readers specifically interested in Canadian books and publishing.
Credibility
Greg, Cheryl, and Kwame have nearly 80 years of combined publishing experience. Collectively, they’ve been involved in publishing thousands of quality books. They have worked on major prize-winning and nominated titles over the years and are high-performing thought leaders and trendsetters in the industry.
What We Don’t Do
We do not distribute to bricks-and-mortar bookstores (although some of our authors have done so through commission arrangements).
